How To Replace a Clutch Cable - Suzuki Bandit 600
Переглядів 89 тис.11 років тому
Changing my clutch cable on my Suzuki Bandit 600. I'm no a mechanic and this is the first time I've changed a clutch cable. If the bite point is in the wrong place you can fiddle with the adjusters. Remember / take a pic of the gear lever to make sure its back in the right spot or it could be too high or low. I hope this video gives some info and maybe help others. If you don't feel confident i...

Dazzled

Rant about bright lights. Lights like xenon. There are a safety feature for the driver but for no one else. I'm not on my own, other people have this problem with being dazzled. Yes I have had my eyes tested. If you have these lights lower them!!!

Call Of Duty MW3 Heads Up Care Package Kill
Don't suppose you have a fitting video , was it a hard job , any tips
6:31 What is the part that you connect the cable to? I need to replace mine but I cannot find the name of that part
Where did you get those bars sir?
You helped me so much man, saved me so much money. Thanks a lot
DE
Good tip for you, always tie string on the cables when taking them off because you tie them on the new one and you can feed it easily through its original route
Thank you so much for this video! First time working on one of these bikes and the clutch cable is mounted wrong so a good heads up already. Spot on video and funny! Not looking forward to the mess behind the casing now ha ha 👍🏼
Thanks
very helpfull
😁💎👍
Daihatsu Charade (Suzuki Bandit 600)
Same set up as the Gsx750 f I presume ???
I cant get bolt for shift lever to go in ...
couldn't of you just left it on the bike and lubed it lol
10:35 Method: 0/20
do you know what the little piece of metal that holds the clutch cable to the pushrod actuator thing is? mine broke and i'm trying to replace it.
Did you ever find out?
@@aarenkiefer9756 lol nope! i managed a fix by using a little drill depth stop and a big enough key ring! worked perfectly for me and the guy i sold it too
I wish you hadn't cut out the end fitting-and-adjustment! Great video though, thanks.
Where I do a ned motorcycle
Thank you for the indtructional video. I needed advice for the fitting/removal at 5:20 . Got a suzuki across, similar design.
looooser …. :-))
I have done it and my disc lock is not opening up after that. I can turn keys fully, but probably lock inside is not straight any longer so cant pull it off from disk. Any solution?
Most have a mechanisms with a locking hole that contain flat disc, they can turn when key is slightly in try and line them up if not, try playing with how far you can insert key, call a locksmith & a drill with a grinding attachment just be very careful, take disc/wheel off to project the rest of the bike.
There is a pin which goes inside one of wholes in disk, that pin I see moving once I rotate key 180 clockwise. But once I try to pull it out with help of key I cant. Seems like pin is not straight enough any longer, so doesn't go inside lock. Locksmith can help me with keys only I guess and I have both keys, that's y didnt call locksmith yet. Didn't know disc lock can be a terrible option. I was lucky I got this issue at home, not outside. Now I will buy a normal lock. What drill and grinding attachment u r suggesting,or locksmith can handle it better?
explain to the locksmith if you do not have any grinding tools i cant suggest any what ever you got they can drill the lock out or cut the dam thing off. The smith will do the sane really. Sorry cant be of much help other then this.
ok thanks
If I had a (real) bike like that, i would definitely spend a few bucks on a disc lock whit built in alarm. They also usually give a little warning blip if you move the bike.
Nice
Hi, do you know how can I repare the speed marker of my bandit. Because it is moved by one side because of a fall
Good Video and a great help, Thanks for posting
Thank you,happy it helped.
Whoopsy daisy
it works perfectly!
Some sliders would have helped!
Fuck that creep sound
lmao
Been there. Now have a bit of broken clutch lever for a key fob as a reminder.
That's Great idea, cheers :) Ride safe
What is the cables item number
I have a suzuki gsf600 replaced gthe clutch swich on the handlebars and the bike did stard and i tried to adjust the cable from the gears while the big was ruming and i had to stop the bike by emergency button after the bike wont start can you give me any advice. Thanks Tony
Sorry to ask obvious question but you did check the kill switch again ? Did you adjust the clutch accordingly? So clutch does not make it stall. Make sure your not trying to start the bike in gear ? Has the vacuum hose come off the tank tap? Am not sure about anything else there, check ua-cam.com/users/Moonfleet41 He's Great with all kinds of motorcycles maybe he can help. Let me know how you get on.
Have you left in gear
Any money it was the ignition fuse
That's the reason why I only get alarmed locks. The alarm would have gone off before you even started the motorcycle.
been there done that
just change it to hydraulic
I lift my bike like a bike . enduro Rock
LOL I would have never posted me fking up my bike LOL. I couldn't understand what you were saying did you have rocks in your mouth. It didn't sound like English.
Just found your videos good to I found them when doing. A surch on disc locks, came up with you disc lock fail. and I now how u felt I have dun it about 3 times bard times. The curly reminder now and haven't forgot no more ride safe
Sorry its took me so long to replay. I hope you and your bike where ok after a few mishaps, and always keep the curly thing on :) Thank you for watching and ride safe
Supposed to have a reminder lanyard on it.
Really nice video thanks for sharing. Getting a Bandit 600 in a few days. Did you find the lever easier to pull after? I realize new bikes need like no effort compared to my bike :l Would love to have it as effortless
Thank you for the nice comment and watching. Yes after a little adjustment to get it on point the lever and gear changes where a lot easier and smoother. RS Man.
Heheee 😁
and that's why i have a cable reminder for mine lol
that little rod that sticks out to the left of the front sprocket what that's supposed to do and how's it work, cheers
Gear change shaft I think you are on about, that the gear lever joins to. Hope this helps Thank you
I feel for you but I reckon that I would have pissed my sides laughing if I was nearby & saw what happened, well you've made me grin a bit.
Always good to make some one laugh, smile or even just grin a bit. Thanks man.
All you peeps out there saying nasty stuff about this guy, i'm sure you have all done the same thing. It was just a momentary lapse in concentration. I didn't drop my bike when i did it, but i still felt like a knob & i wasn't brave enough to put my head cam footage on UA-cam.
Thank you for the Great comment. I wanted to put this up so it gives some riders a heads up even tho the vid and sound are not good, I didn't think that there would be so many that have done the same. Glad you didn't drop yours. RS
I just got one of these, after watching this I'll be using my small disc lock with the lanyard to the handle bars aswell just to remind me the screamer is on, lol.
Disc lock with the screamer is a good idea, and yup keep the lanyard on lol unlike me ;). Ride safe thanks for watching.
That shit happend to me once to, but I did not drop the bike. Result: bent disc, dented rim, damaged brake caliper and broken fork (ripped the brake bolt right out of it). And I took of with full throttle! After that you will never forget it again! (I hope so)
Dam dude expensive mistake. Don't think you would forget again after what you did, I nearly forgot again after this time I was set to ride off and thought about it lucky, now I don't use it. RS thanks for checking the vid out.
Even more expensive because it was an Ducati.
Great video. When is the clutch due to replace?
The clutch cable had about 30k on it the one I got on Sv 650s has 32k on it and needs replacing now. Clutch life span it self depends on how you ride. Thank you for the nice comment and watching.
Yes, man, it happened me twice over the years and I got rid of that disc lock. The worst part is not the scratches but people laughing at you watching your bike on the floor, fuck them all!
I got lucky not many people around if any, just me and my old cam. I did the same and don't use that disc lock anymore. RS Thank you for the comment.
